Logistema at the 3rd GS1 Fruit and Vegetable Market Agents Meeting.
Logistema participated in the 3rd GS1 Fruit and Vegetable Growers Meeting, which took place on April 30th at the GS1 Lisbon headquarters, bringing together the main players in the sector to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities.
As a technology partner, Logistema presented its approach to supply chain orchestration, centered on the need to treat the chain as an integrated system and not as a set of isolated entities.
FLOWPACK® was framed as a supply chain operating system, allowing producers, distributors, and retailers to connect on a single collaborative platform, with end-to-end real-time visibility and support for collaborative planning processes (S&OP).
The solution eliminates technological barriers between partners, regardless of their level of digital maturity, and promotes more efficient and synchronized management, based on unique and reliable data. By enabling a faster response to disruptions, it contributes to the alignment between supply and demand and to more informed decision-making.
Among the main impacts are the reduction of food waste, the optimization of inventory levels, the increase in service levels, and the decrease in operational costs throughout the supply chain. Additionally, the incorporation of technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain reinforces planning capabilities, traceability, and transparency, contributing to more efficient and sustainable operations.
Alongside Logistema's presentation, the meeting included various interventions and contributions that highlighted the role of public policies, sectoral strategy, and digitalization in the transformation of the fruit and vegetable sector.
The need for greater integration, collaboration, and alignment among the different actors was a central theme, reinforced by the results of recent studies on the relationship between suppliers and retailers.
Technological evolution was also highlighted, focusing on solutions such as two-dimensional codes, smart coding, and packaging innovation, which enhance traceability, transparency, and operational efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Despite this evolution, structural challenges persist, such as supply chain fragmentation, lack of end-to-end visibility, and difficulty in aligning planning and execution, directly impacting efficiency, service levels, and food waste.
Logistema's participation in this meeting reinforces its commitment to developing solutions that promote greater visibility, integration, and efficiency, contributing to more resilient, collaborative, and sustainable supply chains.
